Living in the northeast, one of the things I've seen a great deal of the past few months is children all bundled up in their fur-lined parkas, with their beautiful little faces looking out from the hood. That is the inspiration for Parka Bear. He is fashioned from a wonderfully soft, tipped, 1-inch long Schulte mohair. Peering out from that beautiful ful, Parka's face has a hand-plucked upper muzzle and a carefully trimmed lower muzzle. Needle scuplting and deep-set hand-blown glass eyes add to his wonderful expression. Of course, he has a meticulously hand-embroidered nose and mouth...just the right size for his bundled-up appearance. Parka's inner ears are lined with ultrasuede. His ultrasuede paw and oversized footpads have been needle scuplted with fingers and toes. Like all well-fed teddies, Parka has a nice big tummy! He is stuffed with a combination of polished steel shot and polyester polyfil. He will feel wonderful sitting in the palm of your hand. Oh, yes...while you can't see it in the pictures, Parka is wearing a Cowrie shell on a leather thong around his neck...a reminder that sunny days are coming!
